In 2022 more than 80 Owl and Pussy-Cat sculptures made their homes in locations across Knowsley Borough.

Liverpool City Region Borough of Culture

The sculptures were created as part of Knowsley’s year as the Liverpool City Region Borough of Culture. The sculptures celebrated Edward Lear’s world famous poem, ‘The Owl and The Pussy-Cat’ which was written at Knowsley Hall.

82 Sculptures

More than 50 small sculptures were decorated by local schoolchildren and 32 large sculptures were designed and painted by artists and community groups to reflect the stories and heritage of Knowsley.

Sculpture Trail

The sculpture trail was one of the most popular events in Knowsley of 2022, and will return again this summer. In the meantime, Knowsley Council has given local businesses, organisations and public settings the opportunity to display one of the sculptures at their venue.

“Owly Need is Love”

As we are part of our local community, Maria Fogg Family Law has been honoured by Knowsley Council with fostering one of the owls. The sculpture we will be foresting is the “Owly Need is Love” owl.

Maria Fogg Family Law Community Solicitors

Maria Fogg Family Law is in its 12th year being located in Huyton Village and is a locally run family business. We are community solicitors who help support local charities and the local people. We specialise in domestic abuse against women, men and children and have helped hundreds of local people obtain protection from domestic violence to keep them safe.

A Safe Space

We work closely with local women’s refuges and domestic abuse agencies to provide this key service for the local community funded by legal aid. This means that victims of domestic abuse can obtain free legal advice. We try to make our office as welcoming and relaxing as possible to help our clients feel comfortable.

Maria Fogg’s Owl

We are so pleased that the owl would be joining our office and will add warmth and colour to our reception area giving the children and parents something fun to look at. The large sculpture is over a metre and a half tall and brightly coloured to add a wonderful touch of colour to our office. The owl would be in our front window which would also enable the local community to see and visit the owl while it is in our care.
